How does ordering work?
Hatching eggs are reserved by ship week. On the product page, pick the week you'd like your eggs to ship, then check out. Each week has a limited number of 6-egg packs, and a week closes once it's full.
When do eggs ship?
We ship Monday through Wednesday of your chosen week by USPS Priority Mail, so eggs aren't sitting in a post office over the weekend.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is $32 per box. Each box holds up to 12 eggs (2 packs of 6). Your shipping total is shown at checkout.
What about hot or cold weather?
If the forecast is above 90°F or below 32°F, we may hold your eggs and ship them in the next suitable week. We'll let you know if that happens.
Where do you ship?
We ship to the lower 48 United States only.
Can I pick up locally?
Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout and we'll send pickup details for Douglass Farms in Boone County, Indiana.
Do you guarantee a hatch?
No. Once eggs leave the farm, shipping and incubation are out of our hands, so we can't guarantee how many will hatch. We pack every box with care.
Tips for hatching shipped eggs
- Let eggs rest, pointy end down, at room temperature for 12–24 hours before setting them.
- Follow your incubator's instructions for temperature and humidity, and keep conditions steady.
- Try not to open the incubator during the last few days before hatch.
- Shipped eggs often hatch at lower rates than eggs set on the farm. That's normal.
